Marcia

Executive Director

The Executive Director is responsible for the management of all operations of the agency. Marcia received a BA in Education as well as a Masters in Business Administration at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She started with the Coalition in 2010. A former high school teacher and coach, Marcia has 30 years of non-profit management experience with organizations including the American Red Cross, YMCA and Boys & Girls Clubs. Her public service record includes serving as a County Board Supervisor and School Board President, focusing on public policy related to education and health/human services.

Associate Director of Programs & Senior Case Manager

Katie has been a Case Manager at the South Madison Coalition of the Elderly for the Community Options Program since 1999. In addition, she coordinates the Coalition's Volunteer Guardianship and Representative Payee Programs, recruiting and providing extensive training and support to these volunteers as they assist older adults around Dane County. Katie received her Bachelor's degree in Social Work at UW-Milwaukee and prior to coming to the Coalition worked at various nursing homes as a social worker.

Dementia Consultant & Senior Case Manager

Jodie Castaneda has been employed at South Madison Coaliton of the Elderly as a COPW case manager for 7 years, working primarily with clients who have mental health challenges. She is also the lead Case Manager for the Dane County Dementia Support Team which works with dementia clients at-risk. Jodie has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and has worked with the elderly for over 20 years.

Kari

General & MA Case Management Supervisor

Kari Davis has been a Case Manager at the South Madison Coalition of the Elderly since 2003. Possessing a Master's education in Human Development, with an emphasis in Gerontology, Kari strives to offer support to older adults in Madison. Her goal is to improve the quality of life for all of her clients, by connecting them to resources and activities. Prior to working at the Coalition, Kari worked for Elder Abuse in Boston, MA and managed an assisted living facility in Stoughton. Kari is currently a volunteer guardian through the Coalition's Guardian Program.

General & Medical Assistance Case Manager

Sammy began as a Case Manager at the South Madison Coalition of the Elderly in May 2017. As a Case Manager, she assists older adults in maintaining their independence and safety in the community. Sammy attended University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she earned a BA in Psychology and Social Work, as well as a Masters Degree in Social Work. Sammy completed her undergraduate internship at Catholic Charities Aging Services and her graduate year internship at Agrace Hospice. Throughout college, Sammy had a particular passion and interest in working with older adults and is glad to continue this work post graduation.

General & Medical Assistance Case Manager

Greg joined South Madison Coalition of the Elderly in March of 2015 as a General Case Manager, working with older adults who live in their own homes or apartments on the south side of Madison. His job is to assist his clients in maintaining their independence by helping them to find useful resources and pairing them with available services. Greg earned his BSW from the UW-Madison and continued through graduate school there earning a Master of Social Work in 2014. Before joining the SMCE team, Greg interned and worked at the Goodman Community Center and Badger Prairie Health Care Center. He is proud of his Madison roots and spent 30 years in the hospitality industry before transitioning into the social work profession. He is passionate about practicing client-centered advocacy.

Rachel

General & Medical Assistance Case Manager

Rachel joined the South Madison Coalition of the Elderly in June 2015. As a case manager, she partners with clients to assist them in obtaining and coordinating services so that they are able to maintain high quality of life. Rachel earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Valparaiso University and her Master of Social Work degree from UW-Madison. Before coming to the coalition, Rachel interned with Living Our Visions (LOV-Dane) and gained valuable experience in community organizing and working with adults with developmental disabilities.

Gaby joined South Madison Coalition of the Elderly as a student intern in September 2016. In spring of 2017, she joined the case management staff, while working to complete her Master of Social Work degree at UW-Madison. As part of her studies, she also interned at the Madison VA Hospital.

General & Medical Assistance Case Manager

Kendall has been a case manager for South Madison Coalition of the Elderly since January 2017. Kendall received her undergraduate degree in social work from University of Wisconsin- Whitewater and her Masters degree in social worker from U W-Madison. Kendall is a certified advanced practice social worker and prior to working at SMCE she was a validation reviewer for MetaStar. Kendall has a passion for working with older adults and her goal is to ensure they remain independent and safe within the community.

Jeanette

Home Chore Volunteer Coordinator

Jeanette became Coordinator of the Home Chore Volunteer Program in October 2014. She recruits volunteers and matches them to older adults who cannot afford to pay for help with houehold chores. Jeanette has worked in both the private and public sectors, and has a strong passion for helping others. She believes the world is changing for the better because volunteers share their time to help others.

Peg

Office Manager & Nutrition Program Supervisor

Peg has been with the Coalition since 2000.  Her responsibilities range from answering the phone to preparing monthly technical reports, and keeping the office organized. She also edits the Southside Senior newsletter. In 2017, she took on the supervision of the Coalition's Senior Lunch Program.  Peg has education and experience in health care, retail and marketing.  She enjoys the fast pace and variety of her job.  Although she seldom meets clients in person, she recognizes many callers by voice and feels a friendly attachment to many of the Coalition’s clients.

Tracy

Office Clerk and Romnes Lunch Manager

Tracy performs general office duties and coordinates medical ride reservations for clients of South Madison Coalition of the Elderly. She also manages the Senior Lunch Program at Romnes Apartments. Tracy has been a member of the staff since 2007. She is an experienced commercial cook and an Army veteran.
