Executive Director

The Executive Director is responsible for the management of all operations of the agency. Marcia received a BA in Education as well as a Masters in Business Administration at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She started with the Coalition in 2010. A former high school teacher and coach, Marcia has 30 years of non-profit management experience with organizations including the American Red Cross, YMCA and Boys & Girls Clubs. Her public service record includes serving as a County Board Supervisor and School Board President, focusing on public policy related to education and health/human services.

Case Manager Supervisor

Deb became the Case Manager Supervisor in early 2015. She is a graduate of UW-Milwaukee with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She has worked in the area of long term care since 1991, initially working as a nursing home social worker providing discharge planning and assisting people to return to a community setting following their rehab stay. She also worked as a Community Options Program case manager with the South Madison Coalition for nearly 10 years. She gained further knowledge and experience in program administration with a state-wide long term care organization. Deb returns to the Coalition with a wide range of skills, and a belief in providing older adults with the tools they need to make their own decisions about their care. As a supervisor, she extends this same philosophy in helping to empower case managers to be good advocates and to make wise, professional decisions as they work with older adults.

Associate Director of Programs & COP Case Manager

Katie has been a Case Manager at the South Madison Coalition of the Elderly for the Community Options Program since 1999. In addition, she coordinates the Coalition's Volunteer Guardianship and Representative Payee Programs, recruiting and providing extensive training and support to these volunteers as they assist older adults around Dane County. Katie received her Bachelor's degree in Social Work at UW-Milwaukee and prior to coming to the Coalition worked at various nursing homes as a social worker.

General & MA Case Management Supervisor

Kari Davis has been a Case Manager at the South Madison Coalition of the Elderly since 2003. Possessing a Master's education in Human Development, with an emphasis in Gerontology, Kari strives to offer support to older adults in Madison. Her goal is to improve the quality of life for all of her clients, by connecting them to resources and activities. Prior to working at the Coalition, Kari worked for Elder Abuse in Boston, MA and managed an assisted living facility in Stoughton. Kari is currently a volunteer guardian through the Coalition's Guardian Program.

General & Medical Assistance Case Manager

Lynneta joined the South Madison Coalition of the Elderly in June 2016. As a case manager, she brings diversity, compassion, experience, and dedication, to bridge the gap between clients and the community so they are able to sustain an independent high quality of life. Lynneta earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2014. She has gained broad experience, having worked with a variety of populations ranging from children with autism to clients of the Department of Corrections.

General & Medical Assistance Case Manager

Greg joined South Madison Coalition of the Elderly in March of 2015 as a General Case Manager, working with older adults who live in their own homes or apartments on the south side of Madison. His job is to assist his clients in maintaining their independence by helping them to find useful resources and pairing them with available services. Greg earned his BSW from the UW-Madison and continued through graduate school there earning a Master of Social Work in 2014. Before joining the SMCE team, Greg interned and worked at the Goodman Community Center and Badger Prairie Health Care Center. He is proud of his Madison roots and spent 30 years in the hospitality industry before transitioning into the social work profession. He is passionate about practicing client-centered advocacy.

General & COP Case Manager

Rachel joined the South Madison Coalition of the Elderly in June 2015. As a case manager, she partners with clients to assist them in obtaining and coordinating services so that they are able to maintain high quality of life. Rachel earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Valparaiso University and her Master of Social Work degree from UW-Madison. Before coming to the coalition, Rachel interned with Living Our Visions (LOV-Dane) and gained valuable experience in community organizing and working with adults with developmental disabilities.

COP Case Manager

Renee has been a Community Options Program Case Manager at South Madison Coalition of the Elderly since October 2009. In September 2011, Renee started a new case management position at the Coalition working with the Nursing Home Relocation Program. She has a BA in Psychology and Anthropology, and a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is also credentialed as a Certified Advanced Practice Social Worker (CAPSW). Renee completed her internships with Dane County Adult Community Services Developmental Disabilities Intake Unit and at the William S. Middleton Veterans Memorial Hospital’s Geriatric Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) in Madison. Before coming to the Coalition, Renee worked for Richland County in the Family Care Program providing Social Work Care Management services.

COP Case Manager

Nicole has been a Case Manager at the South Madison Coalition of the Elderly for the Community Options Program since June 2016. She assists older adults to stay in the community and maintain their health and safety. Nicole attended UW Eau Claire where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Work in 2016. Her previous internship was at Mayo Home Health and Hospice. She is also a Certified Social Worker

COP Case Manager

Tracy joined South Madison Coalition of the Elderly in 2015. As a Community Options Program case manager she employs principles of client centered practice and empowerment to assist clients with locating, coordinating, and maintaining services that will enhance their quality of life and independence. Tracy attended UW Madison where she earned a Bachelors degree in Social Welfare and Sociology and then a Masters degree in Social Work, focusing on health, aging, and disability. She completed graduate internships at UW Outpatient Neurology and Rehab clinics and at Agrace HospiceCare, where she went on to be employed as a hospice care social worker. Tracy is passionate about working with older adults as she greatly values their presence in and contributions to the community.

COP Case Manager

Eric joined the South Madison Coalition in June, 2015 as a case manager with the Community Options Program. He helps older adults enrolled in COP to continue living in their homes or other community setting by coordinating services that support their independence, and assisting his clients in advocating for themselves. Eric earned a Bachelor of Psychology degree from Michigan State University in 2011 and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2014. During graduate school, Eric completed internships at OutReach, Inc., the LGBT Community Center, and at the UW Carbone Cancer Center. He is also certified as an Advanced Practice Social Worker by the State of Wisconsin.

COP Case Manager

Molly joined the South Madison Coalition of the Elderly as a COP Case Manager in August 2011. She coordinates services for clients enrolled in the Community Options Program, with the purpose of improving their health and safety, and enhancing their quality of life. Molly received a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology in 2001 and earned her Certification in Social Work in 2010. Prior to her work at the coalition, she worked as a case manager with adults with developmental disabilities at a Madison vocational agency, and gained valuable experience as a Medical Assistance Case Manager with the East Madison Coalition.

COP Case Manager

Jodie Castaneda has been employed at South Madison Coaliton of the Elderly as a COPW case manager for 7 years, working primarily with clients who have mental health challenges. She is also the lead Case Manager for the Dane County Dementia Support Team which works with dementia clients at-risk. Jodie has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and has worked with the elderly for over 20 years.

Registered Nurse Case Manager

Lisa co-manages cases with a Social Work Case Manager on medically complex cases. She assists these (and any) clients with various needs such as scheduling and attending appointments as well as serving as a liason between clients and their doctors. In her work at the Coalition she also collaborates with the assisted living quality coordinator to complete country reviews for medication and health management. Before Lisa came to the Coalition in 2009, she received her BSN degree and worked in direct patient care in the hospital setting for 11 years. Additionally, she has worked as an independent nurse for small hospitals as well as various nursing homes throughout the state for 10 years.

COP Case Manager

Noriko has been a Community Options Program Case Manager since August 2016. Noriko earned her Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and has earned the Certified Advanced Practice Social Worker (CAPSW) credential. Prior to joining the South Madison Coalition of the Elderly, Noriko completed internships at the Stoughton Senior Center and in the oncology and intensive care units at Meriter-Unity Point Hospital in Madison. She has also volunteered at Agrace Hospice Care. Noriko is passionate about assisting and empowering older adults by applying a client-centered approach.

Assisted Living Quality Coordinator

Jennifer joined South Madison Coalition in 2016 as the Assisted Living Quality Standards Coordinator. She provides specialized support for assisted-living providers who serve older adults enrolled in long term care programs such as COP. She also conducts monitoring of the care these seniors receive. Jennifer has a degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and is a Licensed Practical Nurse. With several years experience operating a small CBRF, she has a thorough knowledge of both practical considerations and regulations involved in providing quality assisted-living care. She enjoys meeting with providers and seeing the great care that many older adults in Dane County are receiving, as well as working with others to improve communication and understanding of a team approach to quality service and care.

Home Chore Volunteer Coordinator

Jeanette became Coordinator of the Home Chore Volunteer Program in October 2014. She recruits volunteers and matches them to older adults who cannot afford to pay for help with houehold chores. Jeanette has worked in both the private and public sectors, and has a strong passion for helping others. She believes the world is changing for the better because volunteers share their time to help others.

Peg has been the Secretary at the Coalition since 2000.  Her responsibilities include answering the phone, preparing monthly technical reports, editing the newsletter, maintaining databases and keeping the office organized.  Peg has education and experience in health care, retail and marketing.  She enjoys the fast pace and variety of her job.  Although she does not have the opportunity to meet clients in person, she recognizes many callers by voice and feels a friendly attachment to many of the Coalition’s clients.

Service Coordinator & Office Clerk

Tracy performs general office duties and coordinates medical ride reservations for clients of South Madison Coalition of the Elderly. She has been a member of the staff since 2007. Tracy is also a experienced commercial cook and an Army veteran.
